Feature: Brief History Of The American War
United StatesPosted by JonKatz on Wednesday March 27, @10:44PM
from the Rambling-On-About-Nothing dept.
One doesn't need to look very far to see the trend: the clueless soccer moms have declared war against flamers. I've been a gasbag for over 9 years, and I've never seen anything like this. One doesn't need to look very far to see the trend: the paranoid parents have declared war against flamers. This article from Salon.com should sent a warning signal to any freedom-loving Slashdotter. First of a three-part series.

Linux Possibly Defamed Somewhere!
LinuxPosted by CmdrTaco on Wednesday March 27, @09:31PM
from the call-out-the-linux-brigade! dept.
Several hundred people have sent word of a Linux roast-a-thon over at Wired News. We recommend you send hostile flames to the author to let your voice be heard -- we simply cannot and will not allow idiots to badmouth our favorite operating system.

from the I-Like-To-Use-Capital-Letters dept.
All of the emails I keep receiving confirm one fact: a whole lotta kids are pissed off and aren't going to take it anymore. I look around and all I see are Media Tycoons who will stop at nothing to restrict the freedoms of kids. We must stop the bible-thumpers of the world.

    Book Reviews

Eileen Shirk reviews the sci-fi classic, "The Forbidden Zalip Underground", by Orson Scott Card. It's a must-read for those interested in artificial intelligence.

For the Perl lovers amongst us (I think that's everyone), David Sanders sent us a review of the amazing Perl for Smarties, a great IDG book.

For something a little different, try Connie McGee's science fiction novel, The Stonecutter Of The Preirw Cluster. It makes most other books in the genre look like crap.

Gladys Roques reviews the sci-fi classic, "The Scientists Of The Civilization", by Neal Stephenson. It's a must-read for those interested in galactic civilizations.
