United StatesPosted by JonKatz on Tuesday May 13, @05:26AM
from the I-Like-To-Use-Capital-Letters dept.
I look around and all I see are Paranoid Parents who will stop at nothing to restrict the freedoms of hackers. Can you believe what's happening? I look around and all I see are Clueless Soccer Moms who will stop at nothing to restrict the freedoms of hackers. We must stop the recording industry executives of the US.

Quickie Monday
QuickiesPosted by CmdrTaco on Tuesday May 13, @03:33AM
from the what-a-lame-title dept.
Time once again to clean out the submission queue: Johan Simko told us that nerdweb.com has a new look. As usual, several new Linux websites have popped up, including bsdopensource.com, perlhacker-shell.net, and sourcestuff.net. This is starting to get out of hand. Fredrik Torres pointed out that the website for the Society For Wearing Baseball Caps Backwards has some "interesting" comments embedded in the source code. Alison Molina told us that metadaemon.org has a new theme. Lori Wolkey forwarded us a link to a research paper on why User Friendly sucks. And you thought things couldn't possibly get any worse. Ignacio Bazin told us about this Slashdot plug in Wired News. Isabel Vega forwarded us a link to the Random Slashdot Generator. And you thought things couldn't possibly get any worse.

Slashback: New Mexicans, Fraud, Fraud
SlashbackPosted by timothy on Tuesday May 13, @01:19AM
from the holy-cow dept.
Okay, we admit it. Things were said, mistakes were made. It seems a whole batch of recent articles has turned out to be false. For instance, the Web-controlled microwave oven is a hoax. And the article entitled Get Free Cheesy Merchandise from null.heartwell.com was completely untrue.

This is starting to get out of hand. thelma.sanfrod pointed out that the LinuxCon Show call for papers deadline is next Thursday. bocan has launched a new news site site called apachehumor.com. rosganton pointed out that InfoWorld has an article on Slashdot. It's another wonder of the Web. oglenal told us about a quantitative study of the meaning of life. You've got to be kidding. And finally...
